Replacement LED resistance calculator

So you want to replace the front-panel LED on your CC and you need a new resistor to avoid burning out the expensive LED you just bought? Have no fear, for I am with you. Simply enter the LED's current and voltage specs (the stock LED's specs are entered by default) and the resistance will magically appear on the following page.

The Amazing Calculator of Resistor Resistance, or Impedance for You Audio Types

LED voltage: volts
LED current rating: milliamps

If You Get an Error

If you get an error or have some sort of other problem, e-mail me and let me know what happened.

How It Works

The methodology is very simple. Using the basic formula:

V = I * R

where V is voltage in volts, I is current in amps (usually 0.020 for surface-mount LEDs, though there are a few that vary), and R is resistance in ohms, and knowing that the voltage supplied to the LED is six volts, we can calculate the resistance according to:

(6 — V) / I = R
